Leesa has spent most of her life in country Victoria being brought up in Terang and Warrnambool. She graduated from Monash University in 1998 and has worked at the Hamilton Medical Group since 2002 after marrying a local boy. She has a special interest in medical education, family planning and sexual health. Leesa inserts and removes IUD’s and Implanon contraceptive devices and performs basic skin lesion removals. When away from the clinic she runs after her two children.
Leesa has been the Academic Coordinator of the Parallel Rural Community Curriculum (PRCC) - Flinders University, an internationally recognised longitudinal integrated clerkship where penultimate year medical students learn from rural doctors based in General Practice. She was also the Academic Coordinator for the Progress Test for the Doctor of Medicine. Her academic interests include wellbeing of students and clinicians, community-engaged medical education, progress testing and medical school selection processes.
