Q FEVER CLINIC

Are you interested in a Q Fever Vaccination?

Q Fever is an infection that may be contracted by humans and is carried by sheep, cattle, goats and some wild animals. Therefore shearers, sheep-shearing industry workers, livestock and dairy farmers, abattoir workers and livestock carriers are at risk of contracting Q Fever.

The Hamilton Medical Group will be conducting a Q Fever Session in August.  

Patients are required to attend two clinics, 7 days apart to complete the process.  There is a fee of $230.00 inc GST) for each patient, (payable on the first night).  This fee covers the cost of the 2 consultations, skin test, pathology test and vaccine. This fee is not claimable from Medicare, but is able to be claimed as a tax deduction.

Patients are required to phone the clinic to put their name down on a list and paperwork will be sent out to patients.  This will need to be completed by each patient prior to the Q Fever session. The sessions will be capped at 30 patients, however if the first session fills we shall run another clinic.
