FLU VACCINES FOR PEOPLE UNDER 65 WITH SPECIFIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS

The Hamilton Medical Group will be running a drive through flu vaccination clinic on Thursday 14 May for patients who are UNDER 65 and have a medical condition that puts them at increased risk of severe influenza and complications. Patients who fall into the below groups are eligible for a Government funded vaccine. This clinic will be from 9.00am to 12.00 noon at the Hamilton Showgrounds. BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL AND VACCINES ARE LIMITED.

The following groups are considered to be at increased risk of severe influenza and complications (as per the Department of Health):

⏩ Heart disease;
⏩ Chronic respiratory conditions, including SEVERE asthma (must be on a preventer medication);
⏩ Chronic neurological conditions;
⏩ Immunocompromising conditions;
⏩ Diabetes and other metabolic disorders;
⏩ Renal (kidney) disease;
⏩ Haematological (blood) disorders; and
⏩ Pregnant women (at any stage of pregnancy).

Additional clinics for patients who fall outside of this category or once vaccine supplies are exhausted will be arranged in due course.
